The word meme...

"The word meme was coined by by Richard Dawkins in his 1976 book The Selfish Gene. Using this word was an attempt to explain the way cultural information spreads." 

It is crazy to think that the start of the meme was 42 years ago already. My first recollection of memes are the old "bumper stickers" on Facebook. I remember there being a ton of photos with funny captions that you could post on a friend's "wall." What's your first recollection?
